Hanoi to hold festive week to mark 995th birthday
 
   

A multitude of activities are to take place in the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi from Oct. 2-10 to celebrate its 995th anniversary of naissance this year.

The activities include a conference on Hanoi People’s Culture, a display of typical works to mark the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long (Vietnam’s ancient capital) - Hanoi in 2010, scientific seminars as well as propaganda competitions on the capital’s history and culture.

As well, folk festivities around Hoan Kiem Lake, traditional music performances and dragon dances will also embellish the celebration.
